"Little" Cousins hit the Philadelphia Zoo

Today a WHOLE LOTTA Cousins got together for an fun-filled family outing at the Nations FIRST Zoo, the Philadelphia Zoo!

The Philadelphia Zoo opened its gates on July 1, 1874. The charter establishing the Zoological Society of Philadelphia was approved and signed on March 21, 1859. Due to the Civil War, however, it was another 15 years before America's first zoo was ready to open. The Philadelphia Zoo is located on a spacious 42-acre Victorian garden area in West Philadelphia near the Schuylkill River.
We were blessed with a Sunny but windy day in the low 60s, after a week of clouds and rain. As you will see everyone had a ball.

Here's a Group Shot of the majority of us,
{before the arrival of the Wiggins Family}:
(Back Row) Arnold, Sharrod, Ashley, Adrian, Dante,
(Second Row) Anra, Deniene, Jamila, Dare
(Bottom Row) Darius, Omar, Faith, Nina-Skye & Jayson

Today, the Zoo has more than 1,300 rare and endangered animals, and its attendance is approximately 1.1 million visitors a year...and here are some of it cutest visitors:

The "Littlest" Cousins: Faith, Anra, Jayson, Isabel, Omar, Nina-Skye, Maritza & IsabelDeniene, Dare and Jamila...YES...Even us BIG Cousins had a great time as well...

An Artistic look of beauty on all of their little faces...even cousin Ashley who visited her brother Adrian, all the way from Spokane, WA got her face painted as well! What a pleasure it was to meet her!
Oh and I almost forgot about our other reason for going to the Zoo...it was to see some of their 1,300 rare and endangered animals! Here are a couple that I could not resist taking picture of... And the end result of our Little Cousin Day at the Philadelphia Zoo...Here is what I'm sure ALL of the kiddies looked like after our outing, dinner at Golden Corral and a car ride home to our various destinations...

Tricycle Triumph!

I love you glitters

Today on a sunny 60+ degree day after school Nina-Skye rode her tricycle all the way to the playground WITHOUT any help! Yeah! This was a FIRST!

However during the 5-10 minute "Peddle Power Moments" she did blurt out two times...

"Wooooo my legs!"

This "little Chick-A-Dee" sure likes to climb!

{LOL!}
And here she is singing a little happy song with her little happy self once at the playground...ya gotta love it!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

But I DON'T Wanna Smile!

Even during those "bad" moments, which thankfully are few and far between, Nina-Skye is still gorgeous to her Mommy & Daddy! Here is a moment captured by an "awesome" application on my iPhone...where you can see even though she started out "NOT" wanting to smile, by the last shot she was starting to ease up and get silly! She's such a funny little ham!

I love you glitters

What Did She Say?!?!?!

This story is based on true events. Color Splashed Princess

This morning as Arnold was getting ready to put Nina-Skye in the Car to go to school they saw a Metro Bus come and stop right near his car due to the traffic. Next, three people ran across the street to the bus door, but the Bus driver did not open the door (for two reasons we assume, he was not at a stop AND the Bus was full). That is when Nina-Skye asked Arnold, "Daddy, why didn't he let them on the bus. That was NOT appropriate!"

So again I ask..."What did she say!" LOL!

2 Visits 2 Pop-Pop's in 2 Weeks!

We visited Daddy, Boop (aka Grandmom Boop-Boop) & Junior first just to check-in and see how everyone was doing. Then we went back to visit so they could watch Nina-Skye while Arnold, Deniene and I went to Jamila & Sharrod's Wedding.
As you can see she has finally warmed up to her "Pop-Pop." He is responding to his chemo treatment well. He has had a few obstacles in the way, but is coming along slowly but surely. Here she is with "Pop-Pop" & her Uncle Warren enjoying Kung-Fu Panda.
Say Cheese!

SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!

March roared in like a Lion when the Northeast was pounded with a late winter snow storm. DC received 4"-6" inches of snow and Nina-Skye got a Snow Day! Her school opened 2 hours late, but ALL the surrounding jurisdictions were closed...so we kept her home to enjoy the day with us.
Gusty & strong winds were complicating cleanup efforts as gusts were blowing just-plowed snow right back onto roads. The wind was blowing pretty hard in the picture of Nina-Skye above.

Posing EVEN IN the snow...lol! Ahhh aren't you suppose to be helping Daddy clean off the car?
