What a treat! My wonderful Hubby & Nina-Skye made me a birthday cake! Nina-Skye has been saying it for months and they actually followed through. Here's the proof in the "cake batter"...

A Brand New School Year!

Nina-Skye started the 2009-2010 School Year and she is back in Ms. Murphy's (Pre-K3 to Kindergarten) Montessori Class at Watkin's Elementary School. We were happy to see she was excited to get back to school after her fantastic summer.Back In the Classroom! YAY!

Our little book worm was happy to receive this GREAT book from her Daddy who got her this book on his trip to Denver. It's called

"CLICK CLACK MOO COWS THAT TYPE"

...what a hoot!

"New Socks!"

I LOVE LEDISI!

One of my FAVORITE Artist, Ledisi gave a FREE Concert at the National Harbor on the Potomac and Rhonda and I ventured out after work to check her out. The show was scheduled to start at 7, but Mother Nature had a different show in mind...a Rain Storm! We had ONE umbrella between the two of us and might as well of not had an umbrella at all...here were are happy that the rain stopped...however...we were SOAKED to our underwear...lol!

And here is Rhonda as she realizes that she (like me) is SOAKING WET and patiently waiting for Ledisi to start the show.The Stage

Over an hour later than scheduled Ledisi finally hit the stage to perform. The New Orleans born, Oakland, California raised singer gave her usually high-energy performance with flawless vocals. She belted out songs from her second Verve Record Label CD entitled, TURN ME LOOSE! Got the CD & Lovin' it!

So even though we were temporarily miserable due to being soaking-wet, we along with thousands of others received a very entertaining show. This was my third time seeing her in concert and I have yet to be disappointed. I love her personality, energy, humor and most importantly her vocals...which is why she is one of my favorite artist. The Monkeys Of Danyang

Nina-Skye had her second sleep over with her buddy Paul. So Arnold and I took them to the lovely little quaint Classika Theatre in Shirlington Village. There we enjoyed the Children's Play,

"The Monkeys of Danyang!"

They enjoyed the live theatre production. And as you can see they enjoyed their Ring Pops which tinted their teeth too...lol!

It was a Double Decker Tour Bus Kind-of-Day

Today Deniene, Jr, Nina-Skye and I (Arnold couldn't get off work early) took a tour around the Nations Capital on a Red Open Top Sightseeing Tour Bus...Whew...it was HOT in the Sun!

We began our tour at Union Station and this 2 1/2 hour tour went to 30 different areas/attractions in DC & Virginia such as: National Museum of Natural History, China Town, Ford's Theatre, The White House, Dupont Circle, Washington National Cathedral, Embassey Row, Georgetown, the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery just to name a few!
During the ride we had to duck quite a few tree branches, but hey...that added to the fun...lol!

Junior & Dare's Segway Adventures

I decided to treat my Little brother, Jr to a "Segway Tour" in the Nations Capital while he visited. Wanted to add to his exciting summer before he heads off to The College of New Jersey, which he received a Scholarship from...YAY! So we headed downtown for Junior's FIRST Segway Tour. We chose City Segway Tours who has the nicest guides and 3 hour tours. Here is Junior showing off his new skill:

After our tour I treated the always hungry dude to "FIVE GUYS," downtown...And hence he had another FIRST on this fine day! Afterall...we had to rest our aching feet...

A Day @ Sahara Sam's Oasis

WOW...Talk about a GREAT summer, Auntie Dee Dei & Uncle Warren took Nina-Skye to Sahara Sam's Oasis Indoor Waterpark while she was spending the week with them!
