2009 APC in Orlando

This years Administrative Professionals Conference (the 17th) was held at the beautiful Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida. I was fortunate to get away from October 3-8, but of course missed Arnold & Nina-Skye by Wednesday. =o) The event was a HUGE success with over 1,200 attendees, which I found amazing since the economy is doing so poorly right now. I attended 7 great sessions in the area of Workload Management, Technology Tricks, Workplace Collaboration, Seasoned Admin Skills & Professional Development! I networked, laughed, learned, ate and slept like the QUEEN that I am and had a REALLY good time. In addition, the keynote speakers were excellent! My favorite speakers were:

Connie Podesta, Charlotte Stallings & Linda Larsen.

In my very first Session, "Disney Institute's Meeting Magic," I met a WONDERFUL group of women as we ventured out in Epcot for the field part of our assignment. Here is a picture of our awesome group! Here we are after consuming delicious Salmon, tender Rack of Lamb, lip-smacking Risotto, and yummy make-your-own Chicken Soup...Full, giggly & happy...lol! Next years 19th Annual APC will be in LAS VEGAS...let me start putting on the charm NOW to my Boss, so I can get to go!

Happy 5th Anniversary Daddy & Mommy

We finally went out on a DATE (YAY!) and enjoyed ourselves. First we ate dinner at Ulah Bistro which is located at 1214 U St, NW & then we checked out the Donvonte McCoy Quintet at Bohemian Caverns. Donvonte is a graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Arts and a terrific trumpet player. And here's a picture taken by our very nice waiter @ Ulah Bistro.

Here is Nina-Skye with Dr. Tawann Jackson, A Nickelodeon "Parent Pick for Favorite Kids Dentist." She is awesome with Nina-Skye...hence NO FEAR going to the Dentist office. Nina-Skye actually gets excited about her appointments with Dr. Jackson. Now show us those pearly whites...

Fun @ Mommy's Employee Appreciation Day

We spent the afternoon in Kenilworth Park at my Employee Appreciation Cook-Out. Even though it was cloudy, thankfully it didn't rain. Nina-Skye, Arnold and I had a good time with the various activities...as you can see Nina-Skye started the day with getting her face painted.

3rd Annual "Cousin Cook-Out"

Today Deniene & I hosted our "3rd Annual Cousin Cookout" during Labor Day weekend in her beautiful back yard! The weather was perfect with sunshine, low humidity and temperature’s in the 70's. We rented a Moon Bounce for the kiddies {and as you can see they LOVED it} and we had a "Tub-of-Games" for them as well. We had an excellent turn-out with family & friends coming all the way from:
